For many years now and under a great diversity of conditions around the world, gas turbines and compressors have been successfully employed in power plants and pumping stations. For these systems to function at maximum performance and reliability levels, it is necessary to optimally purify the intake air.

Effective purification of intake air prevents reduction of gas-turbine efficiency from impairment in the aerodynamic performance of the turbine-blade systems. An effective intake-air filtration system prevents possible damages and reduces operating costs for a gas turbine.

Particular filter systems have proven effective for such applications, with system choice to depend on climate conditions, dust concentrations, and additional local conditions. Filtration systems used for turbines are used to filter solid matter, as well as liquid components, from the intake air.
